JBK Paddlers Club - Expedition Whitsunday kayaking trip 8th August to 14th August 2010  The JBK Paddlers Club invites you to join us on our upcoming Whitsunday Islands Sea Kayaking Trip. JBK and Salty Dog Sea Kayaks have joined forces to bring you a great Itinerary that includes equipment, catering, guide and instructor Services, and water Taxi delivery to the iconic Whitehaven Beach (which boasts some of the whitest sand in the world ), then spend four days paddling the magnificent Haslewood, Whitsunday and Hook Islands.
This region boasts amazing scenery, great walks and lookouts and some of the best island fringe coral in the world. Perfect for Sea Kayaking, Camping,Swimming and Snorkeling this is the ultimate escape for the keen kayaker.A relaxed paced Adventure, in a magnificent region, incorporating a Professional JBK Guide, and a Salty Dog Guide for essential local knowledge this trip will satisfy every Paddlers Dream.
Trip Inclusions :
· 2 nights shared (2 persons) accommodation at Club Crocodile or similar accommodation.
· Single Sea kayak (or double if preferred) hire including associated equipment
· Return Water taxis.
· Food for 4 days sea kayaking.
· Camping equipment.
· Camping permits.
· 1 * JBK Sea Kayaking Guide for the entire trip from Sydney return.
· 1 * Salty Dog Kayaking Guide.
Exclusions from trip costs
· Return flight from Sydney to Proserpine (estimated cost $380.00 from Jetstar or Virgin). We will discuss and identify suggested flights.
· Transfers to and from hotel.
· Dinner at hotel. Benefits of JBK Paddlers Club trip
· All participants will have completed at minimum JBK Sea Skills 1 and several Day Trip paddles before the trip.
· Single Sea Kayaks available for all trip members.
· Jervis bay Kayaks Guide available throughout the trip to provide continuity.
· Water Taxis for out and return trip to avoid open sea crossings. In bad weather without taxis bad weather could delay departure or return date to Shute Harbour.

Sea Kayaking Trip Itinerary :
Day 1: Water taxi to Whitehaven Beach. Set up camp & explore nearby Haslewood Island.
Day 2: Pack up camp & paddle north along the east coast of Whitsunday Island. Stop off at Hill Inlet & do the walk to the lookout & then continue onto the camp site at Peter Bay.
Day 3: Kayak north from Peter Bay along the east coast of Whitsunday and Hook island to the camp site at Crayfish Beach / Mackerel Bay. This is arguably the best site in the Whitsundays with amazing views and fringing coral.
Day 4: Spend the day exploring this region before catching the water taxi / barge back to base in the afternoon.  |
Your Overnight Adventure Package will allow ample opportunity to take in Jervis Bay without the pressures of time and having to rush back to civilisation at the end of the first day. Four season tunnel tents, self Inflating mattress and cooking equipment can be provided to ensure your comfort. This is a self Catered adventure and a list of things for you to bring can be provided to help advise you if you are not an experienced camper. All you really need then is a sleeping bag, clothing and personal items, we can supply the rest.
